Apple’s next generation of flagship iPhones is expected to arrive in less than eight months, with a possible early launch of the iPhone 17e even sooner. Now, a fresh industry leak is offering a detailed preview of what could be coming with the iPhone 18 series—including Apple’s first folding iPhone.
The information comes from analyst Jeff Pu of GF Securities, who claims to have access to early supply-chain data covering three models: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a new foldable device widely referred to as the iPhone Fold.
Interestingly, the regular iPhone 18 may not arrive with the rest of the lineup. Industry sources now suggest Apple could push its release to spring 2027, when it would launch alongside a lower-priced iPhone 18e.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: What’s Changing
According to the leak, Apple will keep familiar display sizes for its premium models. The iPhone 18 Pro is likely to keep a 6.3-inch display, while the larger Pro Max model is expected to continue with a 6.9-inch screen. Apple does not appear to be planning major visual changes this time, with reports pointing to the same aluminum frame and a familiar three-camera layout on the back. Each rear camera sensor is reportedly 48 megapixels, while the front camera may offer an 18-megapixel resolution. Both models will come with 12GB of RAM.
Apple plans several internal upgrades. The phones will run on the next-generation A20 Pro chip. The new models will feature a slightly smaller Dynamic Island, and Apple will use its own C2 modem instead of relying on outside suppliers.
If true, this would give Apple greater control over network performance and power management.
iPhone Fold: Apple’s First Step Into Foldable Phones
Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone will introduce a major design change, even though it will share much of its core hardware with the Pro models.
According to the leak, the foldable version could use the same A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, C2 modem, and front camera found in the iPhone 18 Pro. The main difference may come in how users unlock the device. Instead of Dynamic Island features, Apple is said to favor Touch ID, similar to what it already offers on some iPad models.
This approach would allow Apple to keep the design clean while adapting the phone to a foldable format.
The display setup could be the device’s biggest highlight.
Leaks suggest a 5.3-inch external screen for everyday use. When unfolded, the internal display may expand to 7.8 inches—close to the size of the original iPad mini. This would give the phone a wider, tablet-like viewing experience that clearly separates it from previous iPhone designs.
What This Could Mean for iPhone Buyers
If the information proves reliable, Apple may be preparing a quiet but important change in how it approaches future iPhones. The iPhone 18 Pro models seem aimed at polishing performance and efficiency, while the foldable version could offer users a completely different way to experience Apple’s flagship device.
At the same time, none of these details is official. Apple has not commented on the reports, and plans can shift before products reach the market. For now, the leak offers an early look—not a final promise—of what may be coming next.
Even so, the mix of faster chips, Apple’s own modem, and a foldable model points to a lineup that could stand out from recent releases. Since Apple is still months from revealing anything officially, attention on the iPhone 18 range will probably keep growing as leaks and reports continue to trickle out.
